Thin consistency, easy to apply, dries quickly, easy to remove/rinse. It didn’t really irritate my sensitiveish skin, ade my skin feel clean and refreshed. I just have to use sparingly, due to it making my skin dry. I would consider repurchasing.

Solid mask, sensitive skin peeps beware!
Overall, this is definitely a decent purchase. I have extremely sensitive skin, so it did cause a mild burning sensation when I first applied it — but to be clear, there was no swelling, redness, or irritation afterward. This kind of reaction is completely normal for me with most charcoal masks or active skincare products, so it’s not a negative reflection on the product itself.I really liked the consistency — it’s smooth, not too thick or heavy, and spreads evenly across the skin. After a few uses, I noticed a few pimples starting to form, which I actually took as a good sign that the mask was doing its job and helping to purge impurities from beneath the surface. My pores definitely felt cleaner after use.The product also comes in a nice, heavy-weight jar that feels high quality and sturdy. The packaging was neat, secure, and well-presented. Overall, I’d recommend this mask, especially for those who know their skin can tolerate charcoal-based products. It’s effective, well-made, and worth the try.

Great little cleanser, good for oily skin
Short version: Helps reduce oil on skin, leaves it soft and clean, but put it on before you shower not after!Long version: My wife and I are like addicts when it comes to trying out new skincare routines. When I saw this I decided we had to try it. I tend to suffer from oilier skin than she does on my face, but she reports she has trouble with her cheeks and around her nose and lips getting dry while around her scalp she has small breakouts during the summer.So we set about our task to try this out. First thing we made sure of was to quit using other soaps during our trial. I know some soaps have a tendency to leave a film or dry out skin so we gave this a real try in isolation for a week.We both put it on our whole faces the first night. I felt somewhat cool but didn’t hurt or sting. Has a smooth gel-like consistency going on. Dries quickly. Smelled good, kind of flowery. My wife said she was a little uncomfortable on her cheeks and sides of her mouth where her skin tends to be drier.After about 25 minutes we both washed it off but it was hard to get all of it so that’s when I decided next time I’ll do it before I shower and then wash off in the shower!Afterward, I will say I felt like me skin was soft to the touch but not damp/oily like before. My wife after the first night transitioned to only doing around her scalp and by the end of the week she reported less breakouts around her hair line. She did feel like with her drier skin and sensitivity that it was too much on her cheeks and around her mouth. No long-term damage though.My only (minor) complaint is that it’s a pretty small jar for the price. But a little bit goes a long way. We were able to share the jar over 6-7 nights with 2 people and there’s still maybe 20% left in there.If you’re looking for something to try out that might help clean your face without drying it out too much, this is a good bet to try. Especially if you struggle with occasional acne or breakouts. 5/5 would get again.

The NIZMA Clay and Charcoal Detoxifying mask comes in a tamper resistant sealed glass jar with a screw top. So your product will stay moist and fresh all the way to the bottom of the jar.A little goes a long way so this 2 oz jar should last quite a while even used up to 3 times a week. The texture is smooth and not gritty or slimy. There is a very light fresh rose scent. My one con for this product is that the scent comes from “fragrance” which usually implies perfumes or artificial ingredients rather than natural rose essential oils which would actual impart it’s known skin care benefits to the product as well as giving it a pleasing scent.While I may refrain from a purchase based on who the seller is, I never base making a purchase on the same. As my dermatologist says, good skin care products are for any color skin, we all experience the same range of skin care challenges. I am also not attracted to products based on marketing hype such as “cruelty free” “organic” “natural” etc.. Those terms when used on products don’t generally mean what most consumers presume they mean. Many of the ingredients in this product and many others with the “cruelty free” tag line for instance were in fact tested on animals in the past for consumer safety. Likewise the company selling the product may not itself test on animals but they may pay a third party to test the finished product or the ingredients. The bottle notes that this product is “distributed by NISMA…”, not formulated by and manufactured by NIZMA.For me the proof is in performance.I have sensitive mature skin and Rosacea Acne flares at times. I have used this product 3 times now with no irritation and it left my skin soft and glowing. (I did a spot test on my inner arm before the first use on my face.) I followed up with my favorite hydrating mist, and a tallow based facial moisturizer that I know works well for me.While off label, in my younger more acne prone days I would have used a product like this as an over night spot treatment on emerging or inflamed white heads. A spot of clay mask overnight on a popped pimple can help it to heal faster and absorbs the oil and bacteria can continue to drain from a freshly popped pimple.A little goes a long way and it has a long shelf life. Worth giving it a try.

Disappointed by synthetic ingredients and fragrances
This is a reminder to vendors to list ingredients on their products!This organic charcoal mask was a bit of a disappointment as it contains fragrance and synthetic ingredients, such as polysorbate. I’m not able to place those ingredients on my very sensitive skin. I don’t think it aligns well with the organic messaging. I do appreciate it comes in a glass jar, but it’s not for me.
