Pretty color but doesn’t stay on lips for more than a hour or so
I was hopeful but it doesn’t last more than a few hours. Color was pretty and it’s not drying. I was hoping for something that I wouldn’t have to reapply after a hour and this wasn’t it.

Decent Product for a Fair Price
Mauve #856 Lip StainI purchased this lip stain primarily for two reasons: 1) find a product that will help camouflage some lip discolorations (shown in pics) & 2) simple curiosity if this product actually works as a long-lasting daily alternative to lipstick.My natural lip color is a light mauve (in pics), so I ordered the mauve stain. I applied the dark purple stain quite liberally on my lips, waited 20 minutes, and peeled off the layers with the tweezers. Be aware that if you have wrinkled/textured lips like mine, you might want to smile a little while applying so all areas are stained. Be prepared to not touch your lips together for at least 10 minutes after applying; they will stick together like a tacky glue and likely cause a blotchy appearance.I was hesitant while peeling off the product, but nothing it seemed to turn out as expected (see pics). In a couple of lip creases, I had to use a dry napkin to wipe off tensing dried product. I waited for about 20 minutes before putting on my daily lip gloss. If you want to top with glass, be prepared for the lip stain to look more saturated/intense (see difference in pics). Maybe a non-glassy lip balm wouldn’t have the same effect.During my 20-minute pre-gloss pause, I inspected whether or not my purple lip discolorations had been ‘covered’ by the stain. To a certain extent, it did lessen the visibility, but didn’t hide them completely like a lipstick would (see pics). I didn’t take off a star for this, because the product manufacturer doesn’t claim to obscure discolorations.After snapping a couple picks for this review, I suddenly remembered that this stain was supposed to come with a lip liner. I checked the box & didn’t find one. I noticed the product tube was unusually shaped and thought that maybe the liner was on the other end. I tried pulling and twisting the slim end, but it only twisted a tiny bit. While inspecting the tube, I barely noticed there was a protective plastic clear cover. After scoring it with a blade, the plastic pulled off pretty easily, revealing the tip of the liner that you can twist to get out. Eureka! (minus a half star for failing to include an indicator/label on the liner end of the tube)Now, maybe I could use the liner (waxy pencil) to blend the discolored spots. Nope. The lip liner was a lighter and brighter pink than the stained lip and simply didn’t match as it should. I carefully wiped it off. (minus another half star for the mismatched colors)This lip stain was quite easy to apply & remove. ✅No odor detected. ✅No skin reaction. ✅Stain color matches online color. ✅Price seems fair. ✅I am curious about the longevity of the stain if you top with a glass. I used a napkin to make a simple gentle single lip blot to remove excess gloss. I was surprised to see a pink set of lips on the napkin (see pics). Maybe topping with a gloss affects the product’s longevity?I would say this is a product I would probably recommend. Bonus: it was so much fun freaking out my husband with dark purple lips. 😜 He was also a bit scared when he saw me peeling it off.Give this a chance. It may suit your needs.

My daughter uses this product and says that its creamy texture allows her to trace the lip contour with great precision without tugging at the skin. At the same time, it leaves a vibrant and even color that looks natural yet noticeable. Once applied, it doesn’t smudge or transfer easily, which gave me confidence even after having coffee or a light meal.In addition, the finish is slightly satin, ideal for an elegant daytime look or as a perfect base before applying lip gloss.
