Giving this 5 stars with a caveat: My biggest gripe with this type of glass dropper cap marked with measurements is that the ink on the glass can MELT into the liquid! This has happened to me a few times with other bottles, including a regular serum I bought from my esthetician and a liquid supplement I purchased. If the product only needs 1-2 drops, then there is no reason to use this type of measurement dropper cap. Once the ink destabilizes, it contaminates the product and renders it unsafe to use. If that happens, I’ll certainly have to change the rating on this product.Other than that, I believe there isn’t any issue with the serum itself. It has a basic ingredient lineup including retinol (vitamin A), vitamin E, avocado oil, and baobab oil. This formula ensures the skin is nicely moisturized while still getting the benefits of retinol. With retiniol so low on the ingredient list, the chances of irritation are unlikely. Thankfully, the care instructions make it clear you should start off with twice a week in the first stage of use and then slowly acclimate and increase the frequency from there.In spot testing it on my hand, it was quite thick even for a single drop. It’s pretty viscous coming out of the dropper at first but once spread onto the skin, it melts fast and covers a large surface area. Using only 1-2 drops on the face makes sense in that case.Overall, this retinol serum by NeoCell is very promising. I like how thorough their packaging instructions are and the bottle color is beautiful. I heard about the benefits of baobab oil full of vitamins A and E, antioxidants, and fatty acids, so I anticipate it will synergize well with the retinol. I look forward to incorporating this into my skin care regimen and following the progress a few months down the line.

Gentle Yet Effective Nighttime Retinol Serum
I put this retinol serum to work in my nighttime routine over the past month or so now. The bottle is a good size, and the tinted glass bottle feels weighty when I pick it up. The dropper works smoothly, though the little measurement lines on it don’t add much since I only use a drop or two. The serum comes out a bit thicker than I expected, but once I rub it between my fingers it thins out and glides over my face without leaving a heavy film, absorbing better than I first expected.My skin can be touchy with retinol, so I introduced it slowly. Using a single drop two nights a week kept any redness at bay. The mix of avocado oil, baobab oil, and vitamin E gives it a cushy, moisturizing feel that seems to buffer the retinol. There’s no real scent to it, which is a plus for me. After a stretch of consistent use, I started noticing smoother cheeks and a little more brightness around my T‑zone when I looked in the mirror first thing in the morning.I still wish the brand were clearer about how much retinol is actually in here, since it’s listed toward the end of the ingredient list. And I would be happier if the bottles were a darker-tint of blue to help block UV and visible light better, which both degrade retinol over time. I also favor the airless-pump style of containers to keep oxygen exposure to a minimum, though I’d expect a product with that to be a little more expensive. My recommendation would be to pop the bottle back in the box it came in and store it in the refrigerator after you open it for the first time to help preserve the retinol content long-term.Even so, the results have been steady and worthwhile. Because I use so little each night, the bottle should last a long time, and it’s something I can see myself using long-term if the results continue to improve. For the price ($15.99 at the time of posting this) it is a reasonably-priced addition to anyone’s nighttime facial routine.

Works just as well as my usual (and more expensive) retinol serum.
I had been using a different retinol serum from another company already but decided to give this one from NeoCell a try. I always appreciate it when these face products come with a tamper seal of some kind along with an expiration date clearly printed, to which this NeoCell serum had both. I like the eye dropper applicator that has different increments of .25mL measured out and labeled. It makes it very easy to use the same amount of serum each time plus helps prevent overuse. The serum itself is easy to spread on my face and did not take long to absorb into my skin. There is also no overwhelming smell when applying it. And I know I was already using a different retinol serum right before this one, but I’ve had no bad reaction to the NeoCell formula.Overall I am glad I took the chance and ordered this retinol serum from NeoCell. It’s more affordable than the retinol serum I was previously using and does just as well for my skin so I’m pretty sure I will be repurchasing this when the time comes.
