When my old French-made, department store purchased hair clip finally snapped, after MANY years of wear, I was on a mission to buy one exactly like it. Unfortunately, comparable clips now cost over $40! None of the local “box store” chains carried anything like what I had, so I settled for a 2 pack of Scunci clips. As soon as I tried one, I knew I was not going to be satisfied, as they are not nearly as strong and the spring is exposed, ready to snag some of my thick hair. Took a swing through Amazon and discovered the Camila Paris CP42, tortoise clip, and the price, while more than the Scuncis, was far less than I had paid for the now-broken clip bought many years ago. When I received the clip from Bayside Brush Co., I was so thrilled to see that it is the exact same clip that I’d used for years and years, that I immediately ordered a second one. My hair is shoulder length, layered and thick; I use clips almost daily when working on projects that require I keep my hair out of my vision field and I use clips when my hair is wet, as I apply my makeup. While I generally don’t wear clips when running errands, this French Camila Paris clip is certainly pretty enough to wear out, no spring exposed and the tortoise is lovely. Yes, I highly recommend this clip and hope that it lasts as long as my last, very expensive clip did.
Unusable for thick hair –
Don’t buy if you have thick hair
The description of this product said this clip was great for thick hair, specifically long wavy hair, and has a strong hold. None of these show. After taking it out of the packaging, I was surprised by how cheap it felt. So I shouldn’t have been surprised when it didn’t hold up my hair at all. I have long, thick and wavy hair and for all of my attempts of putting this clip in my hair, it wouldn’t hold. I tried doing a half up half down and it held for a bit, but as I kept moving around it fell off my hair. I have owned cheaper claw clips that will do way better than this one. Please don’t waste your money on this if you’re looking for something durable and high quality for thick hair.

Strong clip
This is a lovely hair clip and works well… Except that I have fine hair and the cross hatching of the jaws is a little sharp on my head. Some other clips have jaws that interlace and terminate in a flat surface on the scalp. those are a bit more comfortable to wear over a longer time. But this one seems very durable and it is a lovely tortoise shade of brown.

Pretty and hold hair well.
This clip is very sturdy and holds my longer than shoulder thick hair well up in a twist. I like the color, just as pictured. It’s a good size and just what I needed for my overgrown covid hairstyle!

I have a lot of straight hair and this clip holds it, but breaks in a month. I’ve had two of these, both broke. Found a better brand, 2 clips for the price of this one. It’s been 6 months and they haven’t broken. Don’t buy this. The spring wears out .

I’ve tried a few different claw clips of this same size and found with most the plastic was too soft so that I didn’t hold my hair up very well or other clips would be way too wide and the hair would fall out. I love this clip because the length is perfect (6″) so that it holds all my hair and very sturdy that my hair doesn’t fall out. A little more expensive than I liked but worth it for how sturdy it is.

This claw clip is quite big which is very hard to find somehow. I was looking for a claw clip this size since my hair is fairly long. It gives me all the 90’s vibes and I’m here for it! The quality is beautiful and the acetate has a nice shine to it that makes it look expensive. I feels sturdy. I highly recommend this product!

Such a beautiful clip but it did a terrible job at holding my hair. I don’t typically write reviews, but I thought this was necessary since all the other reviews convinced me this clip would be ideal for me!I have asian hair that is on the silkier side – meaning some clips struggle to hold my hair because it doesn’t have much texture to hold onto. My hair is thick and long (longest point almost touches my tailbone) but this clip could fit all of my hair in it no problem. Only issue is the clip doesn’t close as tight as some of my other clips and after walking for a bit my hair falls out.Would be great for those with textured long hair!
